Laura and the Real Gap and i to i team celebrate Thanksgiving!
It must be difficult being a foreigner away from home (as no doubt our own Debs and Benjamin know) but I’d imagine it’s even more difficult on special occasions.
That’s why me and my colleague Cat decided it was a good idea to at least mark the occasion of Thanksgiving for our colleague JV, who lives here in England but is originally from the States.
We ended up celebrating with an American flag in the kitchen and some nibbles for everyone, including turkey (actually it was chicken), cookies (actually they were just regular biscuits) and pumpkin pie (actually it was just Doritos – but hey, it’s the thought that counts!).
We then spent the next half an hour relaxing, chatting and trying to eat ourselves into this fabled ‘meat sweat’ state before returning to our desks to carry on with our work. It’s really busy here at the moment and potentially a stressful time with brochures to be printed and new products coming up, but it’s great to see everyone so willing to take a bit of time out to mark a special event.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
